LEVEL : BEGINNERS
Never danced West Coast Swing before?
It is a very modern, very entertaining couple dance based on communication and improvisation.
It can be danced to various genres of music, whether contemporary hits or traditional swing songs.
Anna and Quentin will introduce you to the basic principles of WCS (footwork, connection, rhythm, etc.) and the most important basic figures
With their program and thanks to many fun exercises, you will be able to dance quickly. During the course of the year, informal individual assessments will take stock of your learning achievements.

Our weekly classes for beginners start on Monday September 11th 2023 – 7 to 8 pm, You can already register by clicking here below.
Even if it is preferable, it is not compulsory to register with a partner. We take care of managing the parity between leaders and followers.
There are no prerequisites to join this course. Just show up with comfortable and supple shoes (no high heels please).
We are convinced that learning WCS also requires a good deal of practice! For this reason, occasionally we organize common lessons and practices with all the students to get to know each other and dance together. We will keep you informed during the year via our newsletters and our web site and our Facebook group.

Cycle of 30 beginners courses
- 265 €

Many mutual insurance companies contribute to the cost of such a registration. Some up to 50 €. Ask for more information.
LEVEL : FANATICS / COMPETITORS
You have already tried a few official (WSDC) competitions and have points in the Newcomer division or above.
You would like to go beyond the social aspect of the dance and are interested in developing your own skills, critical judgment and understanding of West Coast Swing.
You participate regularly in social and WSDC events (minimum 3-4 per year), attend workshops outside Belgium and never miss an opportunity to dance locally.
You do not mind following classes that are focused on theory, aspects of competition, or video reviews.
Then this class is for you. If you wish to register despite not fully falling under the description above, contact the BWCS teachers’ team. We’ll be happy to guide you on which level is the most appropriate for you, for the time being.

LEVEL : EXPERIENCED
You have completed at least one year of classes and have mastered the fundamentals – the basic patterns and timing, but also the concepts of elasticity, connection, and Lead&Follow.
You want to go further and add variations such as hitch, double resistance, syncopations, and footwork.
You want to understand song structure and interpret the music through improvisation. Your goal is to be able to lead or follow any partner of any level, use your listening and connection skills and above all have fun while social dancing.
Then this class is for you. If you wish to register despite not fully falling under the description above, contact the BWCS teachers’ team. We’ll be happy to guide you on which level is the most appropriate for you for the time being.

Every member of Brussels west coast swing must pay a compulsory membership fee of 15€/year. (from September to September) which cover insurance and membership of the Wallonia-Brussels Danse Federation
The complete cursus has been developed for a series of 30 courses. Students taking a course may also take a course at a lower level if they wish, at a 50% discount, subject to availability and leader-follower parity. However, priority will be given to students enrolled in the level in question.
Partial reimbursement of the mutual : generally you can benefit annually from a partial reimbursement of your registration with your mutual by filling the appropriate document (available from your mutual)
Sponsorship: if a student sponsors two friends who register as a couple, the student gets a discount on their own subscription fee:
- If the sponsor registers for 30 lessons:
- 20€ discount for one sponsored couple registering for 30 lessons;
- 5€ discount for one sponsored couple registering for 14 lessons.
- If the sponsor registers for 14 lessons:
- 5€ discount for one sponsored couple registering for 14 or 30 lessons.
Reductions are granted
- upon reception of the sponsored couple’s paiement ;
- and subject to availability in the cycle in question ;
- A sponsor who sponsors multiple couples may obtain cumulative reductions that may cover up to the full value of his or her own cycle.
- The sponsored couple(s) must be registering to Brussels West Coast Swing for the very first time.
- and must mention the sponsor’s name when they register.
- The discount is applied at registration, no reimbursement is made after the start of the cycle.
Workshops & Social Dancing
We keep you dancing! we organize regular Workshops with experienced WCS teachers and champions coming from abroad.
We also organize social dancing sessions to enable you to train and share with other club members.
